Here are the images that I have used for my collage in Berlin wall project. I used photoshop to express the images. In the background there is a wall that I have cut out piece by piece to make a wall on my collage which was laid out on the top layer. I had fun doing this!
I have finished my video and my board that were both a part of the final project. I have got to admit that this was my favorite project by far and I had a lot of fun doing this. Finally I got done with the Volcano and I feel like it turned out good. It took me a while to figure out the best way to put it all together. During a process of putting it all together I have had to start over because my volcano has fallen apart, it was not fun. Finally I decided to create blocks of cans that were consisted of 6 cans wired together. I tried to use same cans on the outside and randomones on the inside. The coke cans (red) represent the lava. O! It looks like it just erupted..
Here is my first progress on my volcano. I Basicallyack the cans on top and tie them with the wire. It is not easy because the cans itself are not really stable. But as I go on I should be able to get it more solid and detailed.
Here is my evolving volcano. I have not tied all of the cans with the wire like I have been planing, but I will get this squared away pretty soon. I just need some more cans and I should be able to figure everything out from there. Also I will shape the red cans on top that will animate erupting lava. It should be nice!
Here is a sketch of what I’m working on right now. For the base I have cutted cans in half and than I started to stack up cans on top of them. Also inside of the volcano I’m using all cans that are in random colors. On the outside I’m using brownish cans so it gives a specific image for the volcano. I will also use red cans to form erupting lava that is coming out on top of the volcano. I will most likely use red coca cola cans for that. To hold everything together I’m using a wire and basically I wrap it around each level as the cans go up. 
I edited my picture and made it black and white. It took me longer than I expected but better late than never.
In my project I was trying to accomplish couple of things. First of I have printed out some pictures of people bringing the berlin wall down and celebrating on the day it happened. I decided to print out the pictures on a photo paper and paste them on to my main sheet of paper. On top of these pictures I have putted pieces from a picture of a random wall that I have found online and also I have printed this out on photo paper. After that I have cutter them into little pieces and have formed a wall that was going on top of the other pictures giving the effect of the wall being brought down. In the middle of my project there is a hole in which there is a map of central Europe. In the center there is Germany and Poland (the country I have grown up in) I have drawn the picture in the background of europe because I felt like the fall of the Berlin wall had a minor effect on all the countries that were surrounding Germany. I have had a persona vision of that being born in 1990 in Poland.
I feel like my work is still in progress and there are some things I can improve on. I have made a mistake making a colorful collage and I was thinking about scanning my whole picture and than mounting it into the board. Another thing that I was thinking was to print out a map and instead of me having it drawn I can have a better sharper image. I’m staying at Duke over the break so I will have a chance to make changes.
This is a building that is located in Poland in the town where I originally grown up. I thought that the shape of the building is unique and I have never seen anything looking likeit anywhere else in the world. Inside of the building the is a little bit of art and couple stores that are equiped with some cards and souvinares. The thing I the most aboutit is that it is really stands out and on the inside its looks just like any other store that would have souvinares init.
